Here I am, back with the first batch of pictures from my trip to Amsterdam. As I said before, Anna and I decided spontaneously to visit our friend and former housemate Millie from Bristol, wo moved to Amsterdam for studying with Erasmus. It’s been a year that we haven’t seen us, from the point that Anna and I left England to swap it for Portugal. In addition, I’ve never been to Amsterdam before (at least I can’t remember) and was so curious ever since Anna started to enthuse about it about 2,5 years ago!
So here we were, in midst of that vibrant city, sourrounded by tons of lovely (coffee) shops, flowers, stunning interiors, open windows, vintage goodness etc etc! Every detail in the centre is just so heartwarming and very obviously made with love! So have a look at the pictures, more are yet to come 🙂
how was your weekend? To start with mine… well, we had a fckng blast!!! Firstly, on Thursday I got the info that all my classes are cancelled for Friday – so instead of uni from 10-6 pm I had the whole day off and could help getting te flat set for the big party! As you may know we had our ‘house warming’-party and were expecting a loooot of friends to come! So we had huge buffet of vegan food, hot and cold, sweet and hearty, a dream-frankly. Anna and Elsa, wo told me more than once that they are to busy to join the party, eventually surprised me and boosted my happiness-level from 100 to 250! Weeell I had a feeling that something like that would happen but in the end you never know and I was just so super super excited to have them around!
On Saturday a comparatively small group of people stayed and we ad a nice long walk in the rain, ten went to the cinema (did you know that there is a new movie from J.K.Rowling that is like a resumption of the Harry Potter movies?? I liked it a lot, quite fantastic but very nice 🙂 After that we had a look at another house party in a ridicilously big flatshare, tey had a proper boiler room in there 😀 So we danced to good old german techno just as if we haven’t had partied all night the night before 😀
We just had such a good time and I am gratefdul for everyone who was part of it! Hasta lueeegooo ❤
She came and she left after 22 intense hours. Not that she is actually leaving, just switching home towns, as for me, she is part of the flatshare just as I am part of hers! So Anna and I finally got to spent time in my new home and as usual, it didn’t take us a lot of time to dive deep and get on the philosophic and spiritual wave. Also, what I notice every time is that face-to-face talking about thoughts and feelings is worth a mint!! Like how we both feel about living with other people and not sharing a room anymore, how we perceive our friendship etc!
You guys, wait with evaluating a situation until you have heard the other sides perception! Talking is everyting 🙂
Moreover, we made it to the food store and later cooked a freaking filling vegan dinner! Well, there may be healthier things than potato rösti (hash browns), but the vietnamese summer rolls were some real goodness consisting of heaps of fresh veggies, tofu and rice noodles! Talking of food I want to remind myself: see it as energy. An unripe mango does not have any nutritional value, so a fruit based diet in germany (especially in autumn, winter, spring) just doesn’t work so well! Here we have all kinds of cabbage, tubers, ground veggies.. yay! 😀 But seriously; I love me some mashed potatoes with fried veggies and some sort of beans or other rprotein sources 🙂
Another “moving -in” sunday! This time we painted a wall, 2 massive chalkboards and set up some stuff! Tis literally screamed for kebab so I went to get some oriental goodness! We have this kebab and falafel place just around the corner that has looooots of vegan options! From tofu to seitan döner/burger, falafel, vegan dürüm, 5 vegan sauces and a lot more that I can’t remember rn 😛 I had a vegan falafel kebab without bread, so actually just salad (love the kabab salad!) wit hummus, mango sauce, aubergine paste and fresh homemade falafel.
Today was packed as well. Uni till 5 with one really good class about art history, then I shopped some art supplies and deco items that were on sale (I’m such a sale sucker hahaha) , next I rushed home and arrived JUST ON TIME to catch the postman (who had a package for me). Further I went to the post office to drop off a parcel and afterwards went back to the city again to meet Vero and Enn, two girls I study with. After a short visit at Vero Moda which yielded me 3 very needed trousers I took the tram home and helped Eva, carrying her stuff into the flat (late night workout!). Now I should be in bed sleeping, but no, I am blogging for you guys haha! 9 days till we get w-lan by the way! I hope you are doing great loves, catch you later and good night ❤ xxx
Hola gente! This is yesterdays post that I couldn’t upload so ere you go:
Today Lotte arrived and we are finally all together for the first time! I spent the night at my mum’s place and got back at 4 pm, then Eva and I unpacked like 10.000 pieces of kitchen stuff from Lotti and later had pumpkin soup for dinner! Tommorrow is Ikea-time to get a few last things 🙂 (Turned out we needed so much stuff again…ugh. But it is getting more and more homely now)
btw, did I tell you about my second day at uni? It was lush, we had a crafts test where our sewing skills were tested (I was so nervous before that but in the end it was super chill!) and therefore I already got to work on the sewing machine! So much fun 🙂
Wow this blogging game is going strong right know haha! Today wasn’t that super special, I went grocery shopping and enjoyed carrying home bags that had a min weight of 177253 kg. New-flat “problems”:D Then I cleaned the flat and eventually decided to spend the evening at my mums place (free food included! :P). It’s always good to see her and my stepdad,so I just did 🙂
Anyway, here you’ve got a glimpse of my new room! It’s finally kinda done and I am super happy with the result 🙂 It’s both cozy and “clean” enough for a productive creativity flow. Tomorrow Lotti (my friend and flatmate) is gonna come to our new home and truly moving in :))
So much for that…right now I am listening to Glen Hansards performance at the Rudolstadt Festival and soon getting ready for bed. I hope you have a fantastic friday and a weekend to look forward to! xxx Jule
Just another wonderful day in the capital with a girl without a label. I just realized again that even the label “friend” constrains the relationship with the expectations and prototypes society imposes on us. Besides kindness, just act like you feel towards a person. You esteem me? Spent a little of your precious time with me as a present. Help me out when I need support. Jump for joy with me when life is sweet. Not because you are my friend but because you enjoy us being together 🙂
Puh, I guess I can say without any exaggeration that I’ve been super lazy blogging!
But not because I didn’t have any ideas or feel like it, no… I’ve been actually super busy doing other things. I know, this is not typically me. But the last few weeks were so packed with all that stuff that is leading me into the life of a student. New flat, new flatmates, worries and excitement towards the future! It’s funny playing this society game haha! I mean how hilarious is life? 7 months ago I didn’t waste a single thought on the option of studying 😀 So now I’ll take things as they are and give my best to stay conscious and always remember the true values of life!
Like moments like this. I said it before and I’ll say it again:
My closest friends and family can always come to mine. Babe, I’m honest. Looking forward to the day that I come home and bae is laying in my bed (with some vegan baked goods haha or mashed potatoes and peas). This also goes out to my sweetest sister, as well as my cousin. Just to count a few 🙂
A group of my old friends from school and I went to Poland and the city of Danzig (Gdansk) to do what we did in Prague 2 years earlier: coming together to camp, have fun, drink, laugh, cook, chill etc. This time our campground was almost directly at the beach (5 mins walking) and we had a huge “base camp” framed by a DDR caravan , VW T5, TIPI tent, a hammock, ale-benches and a tripod holding a huge kettle/cauldron. I didn’t take a camera this year because it just nicer sometimes not to think of taking pictures all the time, but these two here, which I took in Prague, pretty much show the situation!
Well, after 7 days of heavy rain to baking heat we made it back and I went straight to Anna’s. It took us less than an hour and we were diving deeper than my head could process that quickly! We talked about the anunaki “gods” and how there is no such thing like a setting sun, because it’s just us who “turn our backs to the sun”. The sun itself shines day and night so basically there’s absolutely no need for TIME as in DAYTIME and NIGHTTIME. The NOW finally made perfect sense because in the past I used to think:
“Ok if time does not exist and time counting is manmade, why do we have day and night?” But then it hit me and I actually felt dizzy, because the simple fact that the earth is circling doesn’t mean that we need the concept of time.
Howsoever, this is kinda hard to explain. What we have is now and that is more than enough 🙂 Kiss!
How was your weekend? Mine was both adventurous and calm, lemme tell you:
yesterday some of the frisbee players, including me, met up to arrange an “Ultimate Frisbee with Refugees” game. In small groups we went to 3 different refugee camps and collected the ones who were interested… this took us a while since we had to wait like 40 min until everyone was ready 😀 But never mind, in the meantime we threw some discs with the kids who were already there 🙂
Together with the kids and teenagers the other groups came with, we were a huge group of over 20 people of every age and 3-4 different languages! It was my first experience with refugees like eye-to-eye and it really made me so happy. This was one of those things I would normally skip just because its unknown to me, BUT since I want to work on my openness towards new experiences this was totally the right thing to do. So I was happy to see how much fun they had, how well we got along and how much we trusted each other! I felt like a child care worker (from a kindergarten) who made an excursion with a play school group 😀 And once again I realized how we are all the same, that there is no difference and that I love giving those kids something that maybe makes their new home a bit more pleasant and homely. So all of this happened in a 3 hours session with direct sunlight and 30 + degrees celsius. I was sooooo done afterwards! Actually my sister and I wanted to do something nice that evening but all I could do was to lay in bed with eyes closed and not doing anything because I had such a bad headache!
So the rest of the weekend I spent in bed and in the kitchen, watching movies with my sister and making pancake-coated pineapples slices 😀 Now I want to prepare some blog posts as I am off to Berlin on Wednesday and to Poland on Sunday. First trip this summer haha! But big travels are yet to come 😉
So excited to cuddle with my favorite Mrs. Bean after 3 weeks that feel like 2 months.
Gosh, how I miss this alien. Living in England with you. Weird, but it was such an intense time (remember Broomhill).
