Spring’s here + lux weekend in Berlin

Hey friends,

just to prevent you from another “oh still that old post, nothing new on here, yawn”-moment ; a little update.

I spent the weekend in Berlin together with my dad and a big part of my family! We came together to celebrate my lovely cousin Claras birthday! For me, who watches every coin right know to save up money for amazing future trips (woooo) [trips in terms of travelling 😉 ]  these three days were luuuux! Went to a vietnamese restaurant the first day, bought TONS of fresh local organic veggies from a little village shop to make a nice potato-swede-cauliflower-carrot casserolethe other day, vegan choc-mint icecream at night (don’t take me as an example kids) aaaand a raw vegan acai-bowl (best thing are the raspberries and raw cocoa nibs) + “Macao” cocoa with maca + glutenfree vegan cookie @ HOPE Superfood Deli. Deeelish guys!! So, as I said, luxury, and I am really grateful for the quality family time we had together 🙂

Right, now I really have to study efficiently for my upcoming exams and nutrition study! By the way: it is spring already (NUTS!) I love love love it! Favourite time 🙂 Alright, hugs to you, stay healthy, cheers Jula xxx

How I Master My Pain (Light Of Awareness)

Hello you guys and happy new year! I am so lucky that I can say that I’ve had the best NYE of my life so far! I spent it at Elsa’s place with her family, Anna and Lotti! I didn’t even know the family personally before and neither did they know me, but we got along really frickin’ well and I felt super comfortable and homely 🙂 Anyways, I’ve got something else to share with you, an experience I made.

ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BELIEFS AND WISDOM AND HOW YOU CAN SHIFT YOUR EMOTIONS

In the night from the 1st to the 2nd of january, which in turn I spent in Annas bed, I woke up at 4am. Only about 2 hours after the two of us had a really deep conversation about emotions and independent, unattached love etc, which really revealed some new perspectives. Now, when I woke up, I felt uneasy and thought it is because I had to wee quite badly. So I went to the bathroom and within a moment I realised, that my menstrual pain just started and will get even worse. When I get this it’ll usually keep me awake in pain for a long time, especially if I don’t take pain killers (which I only ever took once). Anyway, I went back to bed and twisted and cramped my body to make it somehow better. But then I realised something:

Firstly, I’ve once read something about how powerful and important the time of the menstruation is (for the woman)

Secondly, that I only had 3 more hours till I had to get up and if I didn’t do anything, it would keep me awake in terrible pain

and finally, that I can do something about my feeling and that the light of pure consiousness can transform darkness to light.

light2

So, what I did was (it helped, that there was no other option anyway) to get fully into the sensation of pain. To feel it as much as I could, to pay all my attention to it and further “breathing into” my lower belly. With all my attention to it I certainly felt the pain ultimately but it wasn’t worse than the feeling whilst trying to stifle/suppress it. Just like 90 seconds later I felt relief and immediately fell asleep.

When I woke up at 7 am and got ready I totally forgot about what happened at night. Only at one moment a thougt came to my mind saying “Hey, the pain is gone, you feel well! What usually lasted for hours and even the whole next day just dissolved!” Perhaps you can empathize with me about how happy I was, not only about feeling GOOD, but primarily about the wisdom I earned.

Because there is a difference between reading about stuff (techniques,meditation,tips,…..) and

actually doing it and making own experiences. With an personal experience you KNOW something, which again equals wisdom. Reading and believing is not knowing.

light

I do believe a lot, because it makes sense to me, but there are only a few  of the spiritual things I really know. Today I am a bit wiser and can say: if you bring awareness to a matter, you can transform it. And if you don’t like an feeling/emotion, you can shift it, but firstly you have to feel it to the fullest, dig into it, giving full power to it for a short moment rather than letting it survive and hurt you subtly for a very long time.

This is it, my friends, my first enlightening realisation of 2017. Hopefully, when needed, this will be helpful for you.

BRING AWARENESS TO YOUR PAIN AND WATCH IT DISSOLVING INTO LIGHT!

Much love, Jule ❤

Welcome back adventurer! Here we go, second part of my attempt to capture the blissful beauty of this special city! Also, happy weekend! I am glad that I’ve got 2 days off anything to concentrate on my uni homework and christmas presents 🙂 This year I somehow managed to NOT get into stress regarding presents and just having fun adding bits of this and that to fit every individual loved one 🙂

Here we were on the scout for a nice coffee shop that serves vegan lunch. This one had only one option BUT we stayed to take pics of their incredible decor! So lovely!

Ok, so we didn’t find a vegan snack but stumbled across this pretty restaurant that had some vegan and glutenfree options. Not very cheap but worth the price …

This tempeh and salad plate with patatas bravas was 11 € and included the MOST pleasent server that you can also have a nice chat with!

Tempeh is fermented soy beans and super healthy, it is rich in protein and dietary fibre and leads to way less bloating than normal tofu. Our body loooves fermented stuff (i.e. Sauerkraut/miso/soy sauce)

Next up, one of plenty of beau-ti-ful windows and show rooms, perfectly decorated in style and with abandon! Simply walking by these shops is fun, you don’t even ave to leave money there! But, on the other hand, it’s not even that expensive, you’ve got all kinds of price variations!

There will be a last part on monday, it would just be too much beauty for one post 😀 I wish you the happiest 4. advent and love and peace and balance,

This seed gives you LIFE!

p1320661

My beloved sister criticized that I don’t blog enough recently 😛 So here you go, a splendid picture of a smoothie bowl I had for breakfast some days ago, when I actually had time and fruits this day 😀 Well, let’s not exaggerate here; a smmmmothie bowl takes like 5 minutes MAXIMUM and for this one I only used one banana+frozen strawberries+mandarine for the smoothie and topped it with another banana, coconut shreds and hemp seeds!

Speaking of hempseeds..Let’s do some real talk about them! 🙂

According to purehealingfoods.com they are the most nutritious seeds in the world! They combine proteins, essential fats, vitamins, enzymes and minerals (phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, iron, potassium, manganese and zinc) in perfection! Additionally they almost lack any sugar, starches or saturated fats! It is said that they have many health benefits such as leading to lowered colesterol and blood sugar, weight loss, increased energy, rapid recovery from disease or injury etc pp.

You can do your own research, it’s mindblowing and Anna and I were astounded when she first read about it! Now I have them back in stock-finally. And I suggest to you to do the same 🙂

Abundance on my plate (+waffle recipe)

Started the day with a bowl of fresh local fruits (which looked so freakin juicy and yummy that I had to show you guys via pictures :D) and homemade vegan gluten free waffles with soy yoghurt and blackcurrant jam! This combo thooooo *____*

And because we like sharing I’ll share my rule-of-thumb recipe!

VEGAN + GLUTENFREE BREAKFAST WAFFLES

Pour some vegan milk (I love to use vanilla rice milk because of the flavor) in a measuring cup and sweeten with a splash of agave nectar. Then put in some spoonfulls of corn flour, so that the mixture is still very fluid. Add about 1 teaspoon of baking powder and a bit of salt and vanilla (if not already in the milk).

Then put in gf-flour mix (mine from Dr. Schär mainly contains rice and potato flour) until the mixture is thick but still pourable. Btw: you can mix any gluten free flours and just experiment. Buckwheat flour is really nice as well, giving it that grainy texture, just as ground flaxseeds or coconut shreds. Have I mentioned oat flakes instead of flour? Incredibly good! You see, so many options!!

Bananas work pretty well, too, so just try out what you like but always watch out for the thick yet pourable texture!

I guess, this was the most unconventional recipe of all times hahah, I basically said : take milk, baking powder, flour and some substitutes of your choice, mix until thick and smooth and bake until ready 😀

Long lives the testing (cruelty free of cooourse)!

Cheers guys, have a wonderful day!

When rain -> indoor picnic

P1300428P1300449P1300436P1300443P1300440

Because we are celebrating a birthday today, my beloved sister and I were wondering what to arrange. Actually we planned a dreamy, boho-like picnic in the park with cake, beverages, music and activities like frisbee or any other kind. Impractically we have continual, monsoon-like rainfalls since tuesday and it didn’t want to end today. So, prepared for that, we slightly changed plans and decorated our living room to create that picnic flair – just indoors. We all loved it 🙂 Wild flowers, leaves, CAKE, candles, fruit, guitar (and piano-not quite possible in the park 😀 ) lots of blankets and 1 trillion cushions! On the TV we had a 8 hour forest video from youtube haha, giving us that outdoor feeling. The birthday “kid” loved it as much as we did and the surprise was pleasant and successful!

Btw, these brownie muffins are so easy to make and super rich and satisfying!
Just sift together 1,5 cups (gluten free) flour, 1 cup whole cane sugar, 1/2 cup cocoa powder, 1 tsp baking soda and a pinch of salt.

Then add 1/3 cup canola or coconut oil, 1 cup cold water, 1 tsp vanilla and white vinegar. Stir in chocolate chips and bake for 35-40 minutes at 175 °C! Yummy!

A bunch of awesome days

IMG_1952Went to Anna’s place again and we had so much fun doing anything and everything! As soon as we didn’t know what to do we did something spontaneously. Like going for a swim even if the weather wasn’t that inviting. Or changing my look completely. Hold on.

In between we had the most delicious lunch/dinner(breakfast/midnight snack ever, mashed potatoes with garden peas, red cabbage and onion sauce. So german and all vegan and gluten free HAHA! Just amazing guys. Then movies, meditation, cycling the town in the heat and feeling like being in Australia, deep talks in the kitchen etc etc 🙂 Oh yeah and a big makeover. As I announced on my Instagram few days ago I wanted to cut my hair shorter… well, in the end Anna did. Minus 20 centimeters minimum! 😀 It just feels so guuuud. Sometimes you can have gorgeous long hair but not vibe with it. This is better 😀 Love you hair, you’re even prettier now(and so alternative 😛 )

More photos of me and my new haircut coming with the next post!! ❤

Carbs after dark

Quick update:

just came home from my Ultimate training – so exhausting yet soo satisfying! 😀 and my parents made a ton of gluten free pasta with coconut sauce and another ton of veggies swimming in there (the photos are from Portugal tho 😛 GF pasta with vegan pasta sauce and falafel) ! Ah carbs are just the best! (Have to get another spoonful after writing this post haha! And yes it is 11 pm and I am proud of eating #carbsafterdark 😀 )

Today I did some cleaning, drawing and then went to the forest to meditate. It went well but at some point I got aware of the mosquitos… they were so quiet but still there! So I left my spot in the midst of sand, moss and trees and found myself a nice lonely bench 🙂

Also I cycled to the sports field and back, which is quite far, but I experienced once again that being out to walk or cycle without time pressure ist just so liberating! Pure joy and abundance 🙂 Looking forward to the weekend! Packed with friends and love! xx Jule

Balcony BBQ

wwwwwwwww

So we’ve got a cut little BBQ grill for our balcony. Because balconies are such a blessing during german summers and we kind of want to live out there throughout the whole season!

The free magazine SCHROT UND KORN (www.schrotundkorn.de) featured some badass veggie BBQ recipes, like this grilled asparagus or soft sweet potatoes, filled tomatoes and chickpea salsa. Goes perfectly along with a seasonal salad like rocket with strawberries *_*

P1300174P1300180P1300182

1: Here we’ve got the sweet potato “steaks” loaded with guacamole and seasoned chickpea-soy yoghurt-mix (season with garlic, lemon juice, p+s, chili flakes) So so sooooooo good!! However, the sweet potatoes take ages when put on the grill in their raw state. Maybe it’s best to cook them 2-3 minutes before grilling 🙂

2: Grilled quinoa filled tomatoes – heaven! Fry some onion in coconut oil and add a little bit of coconut milk (optional), then mix with cooked quinoa and chili flakes. Wowowow. The coconut gives this whole composition a “ahhhh, mhhh, what is that gorgeous taste” effect! Try it and love it 🙂

First vitamins, then waffles

Mornings like this *_* I usually have pure and raw fruits on my empty stomach in the morning, first thing after the fast the body does over night. Incredible health benefits, even plays a huge role in preventing and  curing diseases such as cancer! Sometimes, after digesting the fruit portion, I love to make myself waffles. Well, more frequently than “sometimes”. But they are gluten free, vegan, sugar – and fat free, is there still guilt? NO! All is well especially with homemade vegan chocolate spread (I blend up cashews and hazelnuts together with cocoa, agave nectar, vanilla, plant milk and a bit of coconut oil)! Have a lovely sunny summery successful happy productive relaxing bright day!! Love and light to you guys ❤
